Classically trained professional actor, Robert Ruffin, a performer with New
York's renowned Riverside Shakespeare Company, takes us on a poetical
odyssey through his dramatic interpretations of works of the Great American
Poets.  From Whitman to Frost and beyond, this presentation offers a
poignant examination of our country's modern history through the eyes of the
soul.  Rob makes the words come alive and you will feel like you are
listening to the authors themselves.  This is a performance that is not to
be missed!

Poetry Reading
Dr. Carolyn Kreiter-Foronda, an award-winning poet, will read selections
inspired by artists from her four books of poetry.  Following a brief slide
presentation, Carolyn will tell how such artists as Van Gogh, Gauguin, and O
'Keefe influenced her writing practices.  She'll also share recent poems
about river country.  Carolyn's many contributions to American literature
led to her selection as a Virginia Cultural Laureate in 1992.
